The collection was started in the late 1990s.  It was designed by Mrs Patricia McEnery,
first in Schaan Liechtenstein, where we were visited by many friends and interested persons.  Also the class of my youngest daughter Robyn came with their teacher Mrs Eggenberger from Grabserberg primary School in 2006 and as you can see they found the pieces also extremely fun but mainly to climb on or over.

In 2007 the collection was moved to Thundorf in Switzerland.  The two huts that you can see, were actually constructed by Pat herself and were complete huts.  We had much more space in Schaan but  we had space restrictions in Thundorf, and the huts had to be cut in half.  I have now integrated my office into the collection which we named after Sam's story Mapiti.

The collection shows the animals that are found in Zimbabwe (none of which were carved by Sam), several busts (also not carved by Sam) and then a village where 90 percent are carvings from Sam.  Sam concentrated on making contemporary modern art pieces of actual daily life.  He delved into spiritualism and the pieces he made definitly conveyed the life of people in Zimbabwe at this time.
